Route Puerto Río Tranquilo – Puerto Bertrand

From Puerto Río Tranquilo and following the Carretera Austral, 30 km to the south is the Río Leones sector, where there are accommodation and excursion services. In addition, when entering, there is a local path that ends in trekking to the shore of Lake Leones. Fifty kilometers south of Tranquilo, we find the drainage of the General Carrera lake and then the Cruce el Maitén, with a road that leads to Chile Chico. Continuing along the Highway to the south and with a small detour you reach the town of Puerto Bertrand, where you can see Lake Bertrand and the mighty Baker River throughout the route between Puerto Bertrand and Cochrane and from where it is possible to make all kinds of excursions and activities.

 

With Chelenko as sculptor, the Marble Chapels rise up the cliffs of General Carrera Lake. With various shades of white, these caverns are located just minutes from Puerto Tranquilo. The Marble Chapels are a Nature Sanctuary and an icon of Chilean Patagonia.
